Gender Equality Officer

The initiative for The Development of Agriculture of Kosovo (IADK) is a non-governmental organization of dedicated to creating a more developed socio-economic environment in the areas rural by supporting agricultural activities, reintegration of returnees, alleviating poverty, reducing imports, promoting good practices agricultural sector, reducing unemployment by including all social groups without differences in religion, ethnicity, or gender.

IADK is will engage a gender equality officer on a part-time basis within the framework of the project "Improving opportunities for employment and income generation in rural areas of Kosovo" with the aim and only for the equal treatment of women, men, youth, and minorities regarding employment opportunities, income generation, and more specifically towards raising awareness and utilizing their rights.

IADK expresses interest for engagement as an enthusiastic candidate for the position of "Officer" on Gender Equality" for the project currently being implemented and the activity regarding the gender issue analysis in the targeted municipalities to be implemented by an expert contracted by IADK.

Description of work:

Gender Equality Officer in This project commitment will bear overall responsibility for implementation of the above-mentioned project (but not only) in coordination with the Director Executive of IADK]. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Offers advice and support for program management and projects of IADK that focus on achieving the following results:

  • Compilation, analysis and interpretation of gender issues and statistical data, comprehensive research and preparation of quality analyses and reports high;
  • Ensuring high-quality analyses and essential inputs for project documents and other strategic documents;
  • Reviewing current programs and projects and recommending changes in the overall report and gender equality;
  • Advice on possible areas to support IADK and the adjustment of ongoing programs to ensure that the programs of IADK to have a special focus on gender inclusion;
  • Representation of IADK in various working groups on issues gender;
  • Support for the formulation of clear and measurable goals and of the expected results regarding gender equality and the empowerment of women, focusing on the impacts resulting from the implementation of activities;
  • Preparation of reports, presentations, and statements with the aim of advocacy on issues of women's economic empowerment and/or inclusion of marginalized groups, or issues related to the most the benefits and lessons learned to guide the improvement of the project;
  • To accompany colleagues during field visits, gathering relevant information and data, as needed;
  • Participates in the selection of various beneficiaries of the project and its monitoring after support through grants and training;
  • It also performs other tasks to be requested by the Executive Director of IADK.

Qualifications and main competencies:

  • university degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture, or related disciplines, Master's (and preferred);
  • At least 2 years of work experience in the field of Sociology, gender issues, work with NGOs, experience in agriculture and development a preferred rural one;
  • Experience in conducting research on identifying difficulties and opportunities for the economic inclusion of women;
  • Experience in monitoring and reporting, presentation of results, coordination with public and private organizations;
  • Significant experience in teamwork, a high level of flexibility, motivated to work individually as well;
  • I speak and write English fluently, Serbian (and preferred), to have advanced knowledge of using the Microsoft package Office, SPSS, STATA, etc.;
  • Good communication skills, ready to present results for donors and stakeholders;
  • Ability to identify potential project beneficiaries and monitor them;
  • Skills for working in a multiethnic environment, ready to work under pressure of time;
  • To have a valid driver's license, category B, and ready to travel to the terrain.
