[NT11]] continues to support young beneficiaries in the vegetable cultivation sector, fruit and vegetable processing, as well as the confectionery preparation sector.
Since the situation created by the pandemic limits opportunities and complicates market access for young farmers, IADK, while respecting all measures established for farmers' safety, has organized study visits aimed at exchanging experiences of beginner farmers with those who have already established sustainable businesses in the vegetable growing and processing sector.
Beneficiaries in the vegetable sector had the opportunity to see and learn more about the rational use of pesticides, forms of binding vegetables, disease and pest control, and became familiar with market access methods. They had the chance to see the benefits of cultivating vegetables in open fields and controlled cultivation (greenhouses).
A modern greenhouse was also visited, which plants seedlings using an automatic seeder machine, which was the first for farmers and sparked high interest in learning about this planting method. In this sector, a total of 20 farmers from the municipalities of Shtime, Lipjan, Mitrovica, and Vushtrri participated, along with internal and external experts from IADK, as well as officials from the respective municipalities.
On the other hand, the beneficiaries of the training in the sector of dessert preparation and fruit and vegetable processing visited the model units of the mentioned sectors with the aim of exchanging knowledge and opportunities for future cooperation.
During July and August, IADK organized a total of six (6) study visits with a smaller number of participants, so that women and young farmers who attended training in the vegetable growing and processing sectors would feel safer and at the same time see the methods and forms of organization given the situation we have been facing for several months now.
