IADK organized a Ceremony for the Distribution of Agricultural Equipment in South Mitrovica for 18 beneficiaries on October 6, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, where met with project partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries of the first year from South Mitrovica.
The speeches were delivered by:
- Mr. Zenel Bunjaku - Executive Director of IADK
- Mr. Luigi Brusa - Head of Cooperation Sector at the European Union Office in Kosovo
- Mr. Agim Bahtiri - Mayor of South Mitrovica Municipality
- Ms. Adelina Beka – Recipient of food processing equipment
The Executive Director of IADK - Zenel Bunjaku expressed gratitude for the financial support from the Union Office in Kosovo, a contribution that has enabled the support of the beneficiaries of the project in question. He also expressed thanks to the Municipality of Mitrovica for the long-term partnership as well as the co-financing secured by them.
Head of the Cooperation Sector from the European Union Office in Kosovo - Luigi Brusa congratulated all beneficiaries, thanked the organization IADK and its partners, and emphasized the importance that have donated agricultural equipment to improve productivity and the efficiency of the beneficiaries' farm.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Mitrovica – Agim Bahtiri thanked the European Union Office in Kosovo for continuous support in every sphere, especially in financial support for through projects supporting agriculture and farmers in sectors different.
The beneficiary of food processing equipment – Adelina Beka, thanked everyone for the support that enabled her to participate in self-employment training in the Vocational Training Center in Mitrovica as well as the receipt of equipment for food processing. Today, Adelina can handle more demands for sweets than when he didn't have the gifted equipment.
18 first-year beneficiaries from South Mitrovica comes from villages and various rural areas throughout the municipality. Regarding employment, the 18 beneficiaries from South Mitrovica were job seekers registered at the Employment Office in South Mitrovica. As the 18 beneficiaries from South Mitrovica belong to sectors in vegetable growing, livestock and animal husbandry, beekeeping, and food processing.
The advantage of using agricultural equipment is that they are capable of making the most of the time minimal, reducing the cost of agricultural operations. Furthermore, these devices will impact the increase of cultivated land areas, the increase of income, and will improve living standards and contribute to to have more fresh local products available in the market.
This activity is carried out within the framework of the project "Supporting the employment of youth and women in rural areas through agricultural development", a two-year project (2020-2022]) funded from the European Union to Kosovo.
