On May 27, 2022, IADK organized the grant contract signing ceremony with ten (10) beneficiaries of the second phase of the Municipality of Mitrovica within the framework of the project "Supporting the employment of youth and women in rural areas through development of agriculture", a two-year project (2020-2022) funded by the Union Office European in Kosovo in partnership with the municipalities of Shtime and Mitrovica.
The contracts were signed by The Executive Director of IADK, Mr. Zenel Bunjaku, the Mayor of the Municipality of Mitrovica, Mr. Bedri Hamza, the Director of Directorate for Agriculture and Rural Development – Mr. Ferdi Kadriu and the beneficiary farmers.
After the signing ceremony of the distribution of grants in the form of funds has also been carried out for 10 beneficiaries (9 of whom are in the creation of start-up businesses and 1 opportunity for self-employment) who have been supported with various equipment such as: agricultural machinery, greenhouses, irrigation systems, various seedlings, and equipment for the processing of sweets.
Representatives from IADK and the Municipality of Mitrovica, they pledged their continuous support and further strengthening of the agricultural sector. Furthermore, IADK will monitor the supply and the rational utilization of these grants, helping farmers with assistance professional, advice, and various trainings.
Farmers have been very divided satisfied with the signing of contracts and equipment distribution, and have expressed their willingness to cooperate in the future with the experts of IADK for sustainable productivity in the agricultural sectors.
