The organization "Initiative for the Development of Agriculture of Kosovo" ([NT5]]) is implementing the project "Improving Employment and Income Generation Opportunities in Rural Areas of Kosovo," a three-year project (2023-2025), supported by the donor "Bread for the World" from Germany. One of the project's objectives is to support women/girls in rural areas in enhancing professional skills in the processing sector, who will then have the opportunity to generate income from their work.
For the year 2023, the activity for professional training and grants will involve the Municipality of Podujeva by selecting one (1) group of 15 women/girls who will follow the theoretical and practical training program in the processing sector, specifically one of the programs:
1. "Preservative of fruits, vegetables, and similar" (300 teaching hours/15 credits)
2. "Milky" (300 teaching hours/15 credits)
3. "Dessert Maker" (180 teaching hours / 9 credits).
The programs are validated by the National Qualification Authority and are designed in modules, where 30% will be theoretical lessons and 70% practical lessons. Depending on the number of interested participants, the selection of the training program will be made.
[NT6]], in cooperation and co-financing with the Municipality of Podujevë, will invest in training the women's group to increase their knowledge in the processing sector, who will be awarded certificates for professional qualification. In addition to skills development, the project will include an income generation component for the most successful candidates who have completed the training and are certified. Within this activity, one (1) processing unit will be established with an investment of €9,000.00. Therefore, women/girls are invited to apply to continue one of the training programs for fruit and vegetable processing, milk processing, or dessert preparation, where after completing the training and certification, they will apply for the processing unit.
CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION AND SELECTION OF CANDIDATES:
Women living in rural areas of the Municipality of Podujeva;
Willingness to be part of the trainings;
Unqualified and limited education;
Be interested in starting a business or becoming self-employed;
Be between 18 and 50 years old;
Women who are heads of households have priority in selection;
