At signing agreements, 42 seasonal workers have been engaged as workers seasonal over a 15-day period.
Agrovizion has engaged two groups, with a total of 29 workers from the Roma community through the commitment of IADK to find them. The company expressed satisfaction for the commitment and dedication of these workers, appreciating as a positive experience, even though they had no prior experience with workers from this community. The relationships between the company and the workers are strengthened, with the plan to engage them again in the coming seasons.
Agrounion hired three seasonal workers from the Ashkali community, who, after the end of support from IADK, continued working in the company as regular workers. This is an excellent example of success in creating of sustainable opportunities for individuals from minority communities.
At Peppermint International, Five seasonal workers have been engaged, and some of them have received training which helped preserve jobs according to the demand of company.
Filan Farmer also hired five seasonal workers at marginalized, and they will continue to work as long as the company needs it, contributing to its agricultural activities.
All these workers have received participate in various agricultural activities, contributing to the growth of production and economic development. The Wage Subsidy Program has provide welfare to workers both financially (salaries) and also improving working conditions where companies have provided meals to their workers, transportation or, in some cases, have reimbursed the transportation expenses and This has resulted in a visible and long-term positive impact on communities a minority, showing their extraordinary potential to contribute to society.
This cooperation is part of the project "Empowering Rural Communities through agricultural development", funded by the Swedish Development Agency and International Cooperation (Sida) and represented by the Swedish Embassy in Kosovo. The project funds are managed by the Danish Council for Refugees, while the implementation it will be carried out by the Initiative for the Development of Agriculture in Kosovo (IADK).
