From June 22-24, 2022, the visit was carried out three-day group of farmers from Montenegro with the aim of gaining experience in the medicinal and aromatic plants sector in Kosovo, as well as becoming acquainted with some of the beneficiaries of grants for the cultivation of aromatic medicinal plants through the project "Creation of jobs in agriculture."
The visits were conducted in the area where it is being conducted
the respective project was implemented in the municipalities of Peja and Istog, where
Companies engaged in the cultivation, collection, processing, and export of plants
such as: "AgroProduct" LLC, "Organic Herb" LLC, "Erblin"
Beqiraj" B.I., then the blueberry cultivation and exporting company "Boost"
"Berries", as well as raspberry grower and collector Nehat Bajraktari.
In the established companies, the group of farmers from Mali i
have been informed about the start history of these companies' operations, and
their development year after year, then
with activities carried out in the MAPs and small fruit sector,
collection and cultivation capacity and the degree of processing up to preparation
of products for export to the European market. In these companies, they simultaneously
They also met some students who had completed their practical work through the project
and are now regular employees of the companies.
Also, 3 out of 20 beneficiaries of Grants for the cultivation of MAPs (Januz Binakaj, Florije Dreshaj, and Violeta Balaj), from whom they were informed about the support and opportunities created for them from the project last year, and this year they are continuing successfully cultivation of various medicinal and aromatic plants, such as: mint, cyan, calendula, black mallow, sunflower, etc.
The group of visitors from Montenegro were impressed by
developments that have been seen in Kosovo in the MAP sector, and they have been very divided
pleased and grateful for the entire organization of this visit.
