Call for applications for training in the livestock sector

The non-governmental organization Initiative for the Development of Agriculture of Kosovo (IADK) is implementing the project "Improving Employment and Income Generation Opportunities in Rural Areas of Kosovo," funded by the donor Brot für die Welt (BfdW) from Germany.

IADK is currently the only leading organization in Kosovo, accredited by the National Qualifications Authority in 2015 and re-accredited in 2019, to provide non-formal education training services, specifically in offering, assessing, and certifying candidates such as: Livestock Technician, level III according to KKK. Given the low level of professional training among youth and farmers in Kosovo, IADK through this activity will train farmers based on curricula approved by the National Qualifications Authority.

During this year, IADK will train a group of 15 farmers from the Municipality of Lipjan.

The project will cover expenses related to training (food, teaching materials, and certification). Participants will be trained in the livestock profile (cattle, sheep, and goats), which contains a total of 30 credits (300 hours of training), or only in one profile containing 15 credits (150 hours of training), where 30% will be theoretical instruction and 70% practical instruction.

The Livestock Farming course program is validated by the National Qualifications Authority (AKK).

Candidates will be certified as: Livestock Technician, level ІІІ according to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

The certification is equivalent to a high school diploma and will serve the farmer as proof of their knowledge.

CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION AND SELECTION:
The possible categories of people who will attend this course are:
• Farmers living in the Municipality of Lipjan;
• Young people who have completed compulsory education and wish to study in the livestock sector;
• People seeking to acquire higher-level knowledge in the livestock sector;
• Young people who have completed general or vocational secondary education and are unemployed;

After completing the training and qualification of the candidates, they will have the opportunity to apply for the support grant scheme, which will be published by IADK, in which qualified farmers will submit their project proposals for grants with an average value of 3,000.00 Euros.

Applications can be obtained at the Municipality of Lipjan, specifically at the office of the Directorate for Agriculture and Forestry, or you can request them via email: hasan.cena95@gmail.com.

The call for applications is open from 09.06.2020 until 22.06.2020. The application with the required documents must be submitted by 22.06.2020, to the Directorate for Agriculture and Forestry in the Municipality of Lipjan, or by email: hasan.cena95@gmail.com

Sincerely,
Zenel Bunjaku
