Support for farmers continues with training and grants
With the aim of strengthening the professional capacities of farmers, IADK has started training in the livestock sector with a group of 15 farmers from the municipalities of Skenderaj and Malishevë. The training program is modular, designed with a theoretical component (30%) and a practical component (70%), and is validated by the National Qualifications Authority (NQA). The trainings are being highly appreciated by the participants and will contribute to more efficient management of livestock farms.
Upon completion, farmers will be certified with the qualification “Livestock Technician” – Level III, and will be supported through a grant scheme to improve capacities for milk collection and storage, thus contributing to improved quality and increased value of livestock products.
During this week, contracts have also been signed with 17 greenhouse beneficiaries from the above-mentioned municipalities, and the installation of greenhouses has begun in order to ensure that seedling planting takes place within the optimal planting period and to achieve higher vegetable production. The grant support package in the vegetable sector includes a 200 m² greenhouse, accompanied by additional inputs and vegetable seedlings, as well as professional support through training, direct advisory services, and study visits for experience exchange.
The above-mentioned support measures are being implemented within the project “Improving employment and income generation opportunities in rural areas,” funded by the donor Bread for the World from Germany and co-financed by partner municipalities.
