IADK successfully concludes support for four women beneficiaries in the food processing sector – an important step towards economic empowerment and self-employment
IADK has successfully finalized the distribution of professional equipment to four women beneficiaries, helping them to establish their own processing points and take the first steps towards developing sustainable businesses.
The main goal of the activity is to increase employability through self-employment and create favorable conditions for income generation through grant support.
Two of the women were supported in fruit and vegetable preservation, while two others in the preparation of sweets, resulting in the creation of four new processing units. The equipment was selected according to their specific needs to start or expand the activity.
Before receiving the equipment, the women attended a five-day training with theory and practice, where only participants who successfully completed it and met the required criteria were selected for support. They were equipped with knowledge on processing, food safety and business management.
Beneficiaries from Vushtrri, Obiliq, Mitrovica and Lipjan now have the opportunity to start their own economic activities, increasing financial independence and contributing to local economic development. IADK remains committed to empowering women in rural areas and supporting new businesses that promote the social and economic development of communities.
This collaboration is part of the project "Empowering Rural Communities through Agricultural Development," funded by the Swedish Agency for Development and International Cooperation (SIDA) and represented by the Swedish Embassy in Kosovo. The project funds are managed by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), while its implementation will be carried out by the Initiative for the Development of Agriculture in Kosovo (IADK).
