On October 23, IADK held a "Field Day" On October 11 to promote several new technologies that have an impact on the digitalization of services in agriculture, especially in the livestock sector. 🌾💻
This event was organized at a dairy cow farm in the village of Klinë e Mesme, municipality of Skenderaj, where IADK provided symbolic support by installing a simple barn ventilation system using fans. 🐄
During this Field Day, participants had the chance to see in practice how the barn fans operate. These fans are connected to a thermostat that allows automatic temperature control and activate automatically when the indoor temperature exceeds the set level, ensuring even air circulation throughout the entire barn. This system helps to reduce heat stress in cows, increase feed intake and milk production, and improve hygiene by reducing excessive humidity and enabling faster drying of bedding. 🌡️🌀🥛
Small-scale investments with different models addressing climate change adaptation and digitalization in livestock farms have been made by IADK, aiming to serve as examples for other farmers to take similar actions in adapting to new climatic conditions, improving cow welfare, and increasing farm sustainability. 🌍🌱💡
This activity was carried out within the project “Improving the employment and income generation opportunities in rural areas in Kosovo”, funded by the donor BfdW from Germany. 📈👩🌾
