During numerous visits to families in the mountain huts of Peja and Istog, we notice that they share the beauty the natural habitats of these mountains, and the various agricultural activities that develop in these areas. However, considering that as a primary activity for Most of these families involved caring for livestock and other activities we have noticed the need for training in the field of tourism. How consequently, in accordance with the project activities and the requirements of the beneficiaries, three (3) days of training have been organized in the two municipalities of Peja and Istog.
All beneficiaries of the systems solar energy from the aforementioned municipalities have been professionally prepared for the provision of the highest quality tourism services. They have been instructed and advised on the development of the tourism offer and conducted training sessions on The following three topics:
1. Basic training in hospitality and training in hospitality;
2. Training for the inclusion of rural activities in the offer of tourism (horse riding, mushroom gathering, and Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and livestock products;
3. Training on product and service packaging tourist.
The trainings were interactive, and they prepared with the highest quality and adapted to the needs of the participants. Everyone was first congratulated for their willingness to practice the tradition of Transhumance (migration with livestock in the mountains), and have been encouraged to see and use their agricultural activities as an attraction for tourists, especially international ones. During the trainings, practices were discussed for the development of tourism activities, taking into account the security of the families of the shepherds and tourists. The engaged expert gave examples from real life, and some of the beneficiaries had the chance to describe the offer of where they were also advised on how to improve further. For more too many participants engaged in a simulation, as a tourist group and hospitable, which was very constructive, and the participants were very active.
In the trainings held, they received also included were officials from the partner municipalities of the project as well as alpine clubs of tourism operating in these municipalities.
The attendees were extremely pleased with their trainings and organization, where some of them expressed that "We do not have days to know what to expect, but we are very satisfied and have gained knowledge many", "I thank IADK and the donor for these targeted trainings", "I am very glad that I had the chance to participate in such good and we hang out with the other shepherds."
This activity was carried out within the framework of the project "Transhumance - a new tourist offer for Kosovo and Montenegro," a project two-year (2020-2022) funded by the European Union through the cross-border cooperation between Kosovo and Montenegro, IPA-II.
