People with a pronounced passion for our mountains, Now, they can enjoy their holidays in the huts with the convenience offered by electricity powered by solar systems.
Interventions and investments with solar systems in The mountain huts in the municipalities of Istog and Pejë have now been completed. In total, 50 systems solar beds have been installed at the shelters, put into operation, and inspected technically by the staff of IADK.
The shepherds in the mountains of Istog and Peja, except for one the impressive landscape and traditional culinary delicacies also offer a additional convenience, that of electricity. Tourists who choose to cross time in one of the 50 shelters supported by IADK with solar systems, can charge their phone or GPS devices without needing to carry them with them additional equipment.
Farmers or shepherd hut owners are the ones who had more the greatest need for this investment, and thanks to the project "Transhumance - a new tourist offer for Kosovo and Montenegro," 50 mountain huts enjoy solar systems. System owners are happy with the work and efficiency of the systems solar and thank IADK and the donor for this impactful investment great for them and the easing of everyday life. Many of them have put into small refrigerator function for food storage and lighting in their huts.
These investments have made life easier for many mountain farmers in these municipalities, as well as based on the statements of farmers, many of the other owners of the sheepfolds have shown interest in using renewable energy.
This activity was carried out within the framework of the project "Transhumance - a new tourist offer for Kosovo and Montenegro," a two-year project (2020-2022) funded by the European Union through the cooperation program between Kosovo and Montenegro, IPA-II.
