IADK supports 40 farmers cultivating medicinal and aromatic plants

[NT18]], within the framework of the project for medicinal and aromatic plants, is supporting beneficiaries with grants that will impact the improvement and facilitation of activities in the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants.

As part of the project activities, IADK has distributed the drip irrigation system and cultivators with drills and mops to 40 selected beneficiaries in various municipalities of Kosovo. These beneficiaries are from the municipalities of: (Drenas, Istog, Kamenicë, Leposavić, Malishevë, Mitrovicë, Pejë, Podujevë, Skënderaj, Vushtrri, and Zubin Potok).

IADK will continue to support beneficiary farmers in the medicinal and aromatic plants sector with natural dryers necessary for the development of agricultural activities in the medicinal and aromatic plants sector.

IADK is providing training, practical professional advice, and training to beneficiaries to acquire knowledge on the best ways to prepare soil, methods of cultivating medicinal and aromatic plants, maintenance and irrigation of planted plots, timing and method of mowing, methods of drying and storing medicinal and aromatic plants. These services provided by experts from IADK will enable and increase employment opportunities, generate income, and expand their activities in the MAP sector.

This activity was carried out within the framework of the project "Supporting the BMA value chain through job creation and export continuation," supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, mandated by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany.
