Today, on the date 07.05.2021 Contracts have been signed with 20 beneficiaries of support grants for cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, through which conditions will be created for generating income and self-employment from agricultural activities.
Preliminarily, there are organized professional training for the cultivation of MAPs and business management for two groups of farmers from Peja and Istog, where 40 Farmers have learned the practices of cultivating the most important types of plants for one-year and multi-year medical treatment, and regarding the aspects of benefit from their productivity.
Beneficiaries of grants will be supported with nursery material from MAPs, an irrigation system, drying greenhouse and easy soil cultivation mechanism.
On the occasion of signing of contracts from the executive director of IADK and the directors of the directorates for agriculture in the municipalities of Peja and Istog, the beneficiary farmers were motivated to dedicate themselves to cultivating MAPs because it is a sector with prospects from which solid revenues can be generated.
This activity was organized within the framework of the project "Creation of jobs in agriculture" funded by the European Union through the IPA cooperation program cross-border between Montenegro and Kosovo.
