The Initiative for the Development of Agriculture of Kosovo (IADK), in cooperation with the Municipality of Mitrovica, enabled the creation of the unit for preparing sweets, led by Adelina Ferati, who will serve as an example and motivation for many other women and girls living in the rural areas of Kosovo.
The promotion of the unit was part of this event, which was attended by the director of IADK, Zenel Bunjaku, the deputy mayor of the municipality, Faruk Mujka, the director of Agriculture, Ekrem Sadiku, the director of Finance and Economic Development, Shukri Gashi, village residents, as well as other municipal officials.
The Municipality of Mitrovica emphasizes the successful cooperation it has with the organization IADK in implementing projects that have contributed to the training and self-employment of women, youth, and farmers through the creation of working conditions.
The beneficiary of this project, Adelina Ferati, expressed great gratitude for the opportunities that IADK creates for young people in rural areas through the projects it implements and invites all other women and girls to become part of such projects aimed at employment and empowering the role of women in society.
In addition to providing support with equipment for establishing the processing unit, Adelina has also been supported with theoretical and practical training on dessert preparation, hygiene during work, equipment operation, market access, and business management. Even today, Adelina continues to rely on direct advice within her unit so that her products are of higher quality and her business remains sustainable.
The activity was made possible within the framework of the project "Professional training and income-generating opportunities in agriculture for women and youth living in rural areas of Kosovo," a project supported by the Swiss donor CFD, Mitrovica municipality, and implemented by IADK.
