Call for applications for training and grants in the food processing sector

Organization "The Initiative for the Development of Agriculture of Kosovo" (IADK) is implementing the project "Empowering Youth and Women from rural areas through inclusion in agriculture and food processing" a three-year project (2021-2023), supported by the Swiss donor CFD. The project will to include the municipalities: Vushtrri, Mitrovica, Shitme, and Lipjan, which are project partners.

For the year 2021, the activity for training and grants in the sector of food processing will be implemented in the municipalities of Vushtrri and Lipjan.

The project aims for three components such as: Capacity building through Education and Training Professional, grant support for creating conditions for generating income and self-employment and Promoting the inclusion of youth, women, and men from rural areas in agriculture.

Within the framework of The project activities plan to form two groups of 12 each. participants from the two municipalities involved in the project, for which 20 days of professional training are organized in the processing sector (fruits and vegetables or milk) according to the programs of the National Authority of Qualifications (AKK). In addition to skills development, the project will foresee the revenue generation component for the most successful candidate from Those who have completed the training and are certified will be invited to apply for the grant. After certification, the two most successful candidates from the two municipalities will is supported by processing equipment worth €7,000.00.

THE CRITERIA THAT YOUNG PEOPLE MUST MEET FOR TRAINING ARE:

· Be between 18 and 55 years old;

· To be from the areas rural areas of the municipalities of Vushtrri and Lipjan;

· To be unemployed, and active in food processing;

· Have the potential to expansion of processing capacities;

· To be interested to start a business or become self-employed;

· Female heads of households will to have priority in selection.
