The fruit and vegetable processing industry has a positive development trend with great employment opportunities. The market demand for locally processed and high-quality products is increasing; however, the domestic market is mainly dependent on imports. This sector continuously faces various challenges, one of which is the lack of technical and professional expertise. Addressing these challenges requires dedication; IADK plays an important role, which through the project "Enhancing Skills Development in the Food Processing Sector in Kosovo," supported by USAID Kosovo Compete Activity, is enabling the professional capacity building of 10 job seekers and 16 workers in the processing industry.
These professional trainings cover the fruit and vegetable processing program, a program accredited by the National Qualifications Authority (AKK). Candidates will attend a 20-day training cycle, with 70% of all training being practical and 30% theoretical. Practical training is held at the processing center at [NT1]] and in several partner companies. All successful candidates will have the opportunity to be certified for level III, which includes 5 ECTS credits as provided by Law No. 04/L-037 on higher education in the Republic of Kosovo. After the training, job seekers will be ready for the labor market, employees will be able to face the challenges of the rapid development of the processing industry, and the processing industry will have quality workers with adequate qualifications
