Success Story: Empowering Marginalized Communities Through Contract Employment with Companies🌱

Following the signing of these agreements, 42 seasonal workers were engaged for a 15-day period.

Agrovizion has engaged two groups, with a total of 29 workers from the Roma community through the engagements of IADK to find them. The company expressed satisfaction for the commitment and dedication of these workers, evaluating it as a positive experience, even though they had no previous experience with workers from this community. Relations between the company and the workers have been strengthened, with the plan to engage them again in the coming seasons.

Agrounion engaged three seasonal workers from the Ashkali community, who, after the end of the support from IADK, continued to work for the company as regular workers. This is a great example of success in creating sustainable opportunities for individuals from minority communities.

At Peppermint International, five seasonal workers have been hired, and some of them had received previous training, which helped to maintain jobs at the company's request.

Filan Farmer also engaged five marginalized seasonal workers, and they will continue to work as long as the company needs, contributing to its agricultural activities.

All these workers have participated in various agricultural activities, contributing to the increase in production and economic development. The Wage Subsidy Program has provided welfare for the workers both from the financial aspect (salaries) or the improvement of the working conditions where the workers' companies have offered you the same, the transport or even in some cases they have paid the transport costs and this has resulted in a visible and long-term positive impact on minority communities, demonstrating their tremendous potential to contribute to society.

This collaboration is part of the project "Empowering Rural Communities through Agricultural Development," funded by the Swedish Agency for Development and International Cooperation (Sida) and represented by the Swedish Embassy in Kosovo. The project funds are managed by the Danish Refugee Council, while its implementation will be carried out by the Initiative for the Development of Agriculture in Kosovo (IADK).
