IADK participates in the roundtable discussion organized by the Municipality of Vushtrri in honor of marking December 10, International Human Rights Day, and the conclusion of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Participants in this meeting were representatives of the public sector from the fields of justice, health and education, representatives of civil society, as well as citizens of the Municipality of Vushtrri. In the capacity of panelists of the meeting were: Mrs. Melihate Latifi - Speaker of the Municipal Assembly, Mr. Islam Qerimi - Dean of the Faculty of Law from the University of Mitrovica, Mrs. Luljeta Halili - Police at the Police Station of the Municipality of Vushtrri, Mrs. Vildane Mulaku - "Martyrs of Freedom" association, Remzije Zekolli - Coordinator of the Human Rights Unit and Gender Equality Officer. The group of panelists have stimulated important discussion topics by bringing a rich overview of their experiences and expertise.
Special focus is given to the need to empower women and address the challenges they face.
Recommendations have been proposed to improve the situation and ensure continuous support for the empowerment of women, respect for human rights, equal treatment in society, and the protection of children's rights.
This important event provides a fruitful example of cooperation and commitment to issues of human rights and gender equality at the local level.
