IADK conducts a study visit with the beneficiaries of the livestock sector
On November 24, 2023, a study visit was carried out to exchange experiences with beneficiaries of lactofreezes, milking machines and milk cans, with the aim of further advancing knowledge about the best management practices of livestock farms.
Two groups of farmers from Drenas and Podujeva participated in this visit, who had the opportunity to share their experiences among themselves, and to see closely the breeding method, production capacities and proper management of two dairy cow farms. one in the Municipality of Vushtrri and the other in the Municipality of Lipjan.
Among other things, the beneficiaries have acquired new knowledge such as; in the construction of stables based on animal welfare standards, the selection of cow breeds with milk-producing characteristics, the rules for maintaining hygiene on the farm, as well as the production of bulk dry, wet and canned foods based on in their quality assurance practices. Also, they had the opportunity to see closely the closed milking system of dairy cows, the lactofreezer room with all accompanying equipment, milking practices and cleaning of milking equipment in order to improve the quality of milk, increase income and reducing losses from this activity.
This activity was carried out within the project "Improving employment and opportunities for income generation in rural areas of Kosovo" financed by the donor BfdW from Germany.
