Inauguration of the facility - units for food processing and the program for professional education in IADK

For more than a decade, IADK has been working to improve socio-economic conditions by focusing on candidates' capacity building so that they have the professional skills to engage in agriculture, processing and rural development.

Considering the important aspect of the practice, the professional staff of IADK has been actively engaged in providing trainings that follow theory to practice approach. Although the teaching conditions were not ideal, IADK staff used various tools to provide quality training. The need for a food processing facility / unit has existed for a long time, and IADK has long since begun preparations to provide the best training conditions that are in line with nowadays best practices.

On July 7, 2021, IADK after a long and challenging work proudly held the Inauguration ceremony of the Facility / Food Processing Units and Vocational Training Program. From now on, in IADK, professional practical trainings will be provided for candidates on the programs "Dairy program" and "Preserver of Fruits, Vegetables and alike" accredited and validated by the National Qualifications Authority, as well as other trainings in food processing.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Executive Director of IADK, Mr. Zenel Bunjaku, said that the construction of this facility is one of the most important projects since the establishment of IADK. The food processing facility / unit meets all the criteria and provides the conditions for practical development respecting the hygienic-sanitary conditions. Therefore, Mr. Bunjaku invited all interested parties to follow IADK on social media and its projects in order to participate in quality training and be provided with nationally recognized certificates.

Afterwards, the Minister of MAFRD, Mr. Faton Peci, congratulated IADK for the will and work so far in creating a Vocational Training Program in accordance with the requirements of MAFRD and the finalization of the facility / units for food processing for which Kosovo and its citizens are in great need.

Whereas, the Mayor of Vushtrri, Mr. Xhafer Tahiri, thanked IADK which did not stop working towards the welfare of the most neglected groups, supporting them with various trainings and grants. Now, thanks to IADK, candidates will be able to receive professional trainings and improve their employment or self-employment opportunities, contributing towards country's economic development.

The ceremony was attended by 96 participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mayors and representatives of cooperating municipalities (Vushtrri, Kamenica, Lipjan, Viti). Also, representatives of international and local organizations (GIZ, CCH, DRC, ADA, USAID, PPSE, PEPEKO), representatives of food industry, representatives of universities (UMIB, UP) were present. Finally, the Chief Executive of Food and Veterinary Agency of Kosovo, representatives of Vocational Schools and Centers for Vocational Education and Training, as well as agro-processing organizations and women representatives of businesses set up by IADK projects (CFD, BfdW, DRC) also participated in this ceremony where they promoted their products.

The activity is part of the project "Improving employment and income generation opportunities in rural areas of Kosovo", supported by the donor Bread for the World from Germany and co-financed by the Municipality of Vushtrri.

IADK invites all interested parties to attend quality training in the food processing sector and to be provided with a certificate recognized throughout the country.
